Doory — Customer Terms of Service

Version 1.0 — Effective 27 August 2026
Operated by SOFTAILAB LIMITED ("Doory", "we", "us")

1. What Doory is (and is not)

1.1 Doory is an online introduction platform. We connect people who need home and personal services ("Customers") with independent service businesses ("Service Partners").

1.2 Doory does not provide the services. When you engage a Service Partner, your contract for the work is directly between you and that Service Partner. Doory is not a party to that contract, does not supervise the work, and does not employ Service Partners or their staff.

1.3 We verify Service Partners' NZBN registration and identity documents at onboarding, but we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, timeliness or outcome of any work.

2. Your account

2.1 You must be 16 or older and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

2.2 We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, provide false information, or misuse the platform (including fake enquiries, harassment, or attempted fraud).

3. Enquiries, quotes and engaging a Service Partner

3.1 Posting an enquiry is free and is an invitation for Service Partners to respond — it is not a contract. Quotes are provided by Service Partners, not Doory.

3.2 When you select a Service Partner, your contact details are shared with them so the work can proceed. Prices, scope, variations, invoicing and payment for the work itself are strictly between you and the Service Partner.

3.3 You must not use enquiries to harvest contact details, advertise, or post unlawful, misleading or abusive content.

4. Reviews

4.1 Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are unlawful, offensive or unrelated to the work. You grant Doory a perpetual, royalty-free licence to display and use review content on the platform.

5. Your statutory rights

5.1 Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded. Guarantees relating to the services performed apply against the Service Partner who performed them.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

6.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided "as is", and we exclude all warranties not expressly stated in these terms.

6.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Doory is not liable for: (a) the acts or omissions of any Service Partner or Customer; (b) the quality, safety, legality or outcome of any services arranged through the platform; (c) loss of profits, data, opportunity or any indirect or consequential loss; (d) events outside our reasonable control (including outages of third-party services); or (e) any dispute between you and a Service Partner — though we may, at our discretion, assist in resolving disputes.

6.3 Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to NZ$100 (reflecting that the platform is free for Customers).

6.4 Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability arising from our own fraud or wilful misconduct.

7. Indemnity

7.1 You indemnify Doory against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or your dealings with a Service Partner, except to the extent caused by Doory's own breach.

8. Changes to these terms

8.1 We may update these terms at any time. We will publish the updated version in the app/on our website with a new version number and effective date, and will notify you of material changes (in-app notice or email) at least 14 days before they take effect.

8.2 Continuing to use Doory after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept updated terms, stop using the platform and close your account.

9. General

9.1 These terms are governed by New Zealand law; the New Zealand courts (or the Disputes Tribunal where applicable) have jurisdiction.
9.2 If any clause is held invalid, the remainder continues in force.
9.3 Privacy: our collection and use of personal information is described in the Doory Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9.4 We may assign these terms as part of a business transfer; you may not assign them.
